Re: TransDEM & Trainz

Curtis, To be sure I understand the use of UTM tiles is that it is only for placement of building, roads, rivers and the terrain should look like for example: colors and bushes & trees. Should I be worried about placement of the UTM Tiles at all?? After I get all the scenery done can I delete th...

Re: TransDEM & Trainz

Curtis, I am sorry I don't understand what you mean. I have tried everything I know in Trainz. How can a flat UTM Tile conform to a hilly/mountainous area??? Below are 2 screen shots from my route that really show what I am talking about. The first one showed the track elevated. The track seems to b...

Re: TransDEM & Trainz

Curtis, The problem is when I open the route all the UTM Tiles are floating in the air. When I go to adjust the height they don't "snap" into place. I try to adjust the height going up or down, but don't know where the UTM Tile height should be. When I adjust the height that is when the tr...

TransDEM & Trainz

Help anyone, I have been using the route you sent me just before Thanksgiving!! Thanks so much!! I have got a route into Trainz that I put together. I have used Map Tiles. The problem is that when I go into Surveyor most of the Map Tiles are "floating" in the air. I have gone into the obje...

Re: Caboose No 9 Download

Curtis, I found the mini map, it was in the menu in surveyor. Sometimes my brain doesn't work. The reason I asked it the imagery was current is that if it was from historical imagery I wouldn't recognize anything. But, since it is relatively recent I should be able to recognize the area. I will zoom...

Re: Caboose No 9 Download

Curtis, I have successfully downloaded and unzipped the files and loaded them into CM. I have committed them. I followed the grey line all the way to both ends, I think I know where VC is. Great job!! If you don't mind I am going to use this. As I have said before, you have where the track should go...

Re: Caboose No 9 Download

Curtis,

I unzipped the two files. Then I tried to drag & drop into CM. It would not let me drag & drop in CM. Where in CM should I be dragging & dropping the folders? Should I be importing the content?

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Caboose No 9 Download

Curtis, I had downloaded the track both tan & grey, but lost them when my computer crashed last Saturday. I am going to download them again from the DLS. I would love if you could export the raw route in TS2009. The only problem is that you will have to help me retrieve it. How will this work. D...

Re: Caboose No 9 Download

Hi Bruce, 1. For the DEM, I used NED data from the National Seamless server, as described on page 20 of the TransDEM documentation. 2. For the maps / ortho images, I used WMS Bing via map tile services, as described in Tutorial 7 (p 126 in the manual). 3. For the basic vector data, I more-or-less ju...

Re: Caboose No 9 Download

Hi Curtis, I was just wondering if you could do me a favore and give me the steps on the Following: 1. Your DEM, I would assume you use WMS Microsoft Bing 2. Maps/Orthro images, Georeferenced Raster Maps. 3. Basic Vector Data, to mark the course of you route. I have tried Google Maps and can not get...

Re: Caboose No 9 Download

Curtis, I went in and did what you had suggested. The category-class was already "YL". It shows up in Surveyor and I had it on the layout and it seems OK. Thanks On the maps you are using, is WMS Miscrosoft Bing working with TransDem? I am going to look at Miscrosoft Bing. Thanks again, Br...

Curtis,

Thanks for responding! I am using Trainz 2009, Build 41844 and Version 3.1.

If you don't mind my asking, what maps are you using for your terrain??

Thanks again

Caboose No 9 Download

Curtis, I have downloaded Caboose #9 1873 from the download station this morning. The description in the download had "Sway Script Library", when I went to view it there was "!" in the window. Upon viewing the error & warnings it said "YL" is not a valid valve for t...
