Thanks lilb, I knew it was something simple I was missing. They call it pivot point. Guess I really should buy that gmax bible.

Gmax question about part origin

Hi guys, and especially Curtis, When grouping parts together for ease of moving, hiding, etc., then ungrouping, each parts origin, handle, whatever you call the x,y thingy that shows when you select it, moves. How do I move it back either to the center of the object, or close to it? I've seen it in ...

There are some posts over on the Auran forum. I can't remember if you have to export to .3ds then still import into .gmax or what the protocol is. Look for the posts on Updated Plug-ins, and ones about Blender.

As a suggestion, I would delete all your attachment points, then go to Top view and add all your points from there. That way they'll be oriented correctly. Whatever you name your back coupler point should be rotated 180º. From the top view, click on the point, make sure the restrict to z box is acti...

That looks GOOD!. Must be you didn't start gmax from Trainz Asset Creation Studio. Goto http://www.44090digitalmodels.co.uk and download the first tutorial which explains setting up gmax for Trainz.
Again, nice job.

I'm not chastising you Rick, but if you'd kept '06 and upgraded to SP1, you'd know about that.

That was one of the good things about MSTS. You not only had to watch your water, but also the Johnson bar to make sure you were still making steam. It's implied in TRS, but you don't get that direct readout. So do you like cab mode? To paraphrase philskene, (I think) "Only real men drive in ca...

Looking really good there, Rick. She looks to be really interesting to run. Just saw that post about Ben's mines and fixed them, so I'm ready.

Well, I download the new .gs, stuck it in and built another test loop. Now the locos don't stop for me. But I'm going to quit bothering you Curtis. I don't use AI that much, only to provide extra traffic for me to contend with when I'm driving. I'll let you get mad at Rick. Norm Don't suppose it's p...
