Re: Train Order Board aspect scripts.

The object of the script is that at frame 1 (signal up) the signal is red, at frame 15 (signal midway) the light displays yellow, and at frame 30 (signal down) the light displays green. I don't think I gave a specific mesh for the script to check...that's probably it. Will mess about with it and see...

Train Order Board aspect scripts.

Been messing about with this script a while now and I can't quite figure it out. Considering I've no idea what I'm doing, suggest whatever, but I'm specifically looking at or above the bold line. For the sake of keeping this short, I'm only posting from the start of the script to the end of my new s...

Re: 1920s stuff

The steam shovel is on the DLS, I forget the author. They're really fantastic, though having good trucks really helps complete it.
Absolutely a vote for higher res, we can tone down settings if the performance hit is too much, but it's tougher to up the resolution if you can spare the frame rate.

Re: The Mojave & Panamint Railroad

Heh, problems always follow route building... It could be worse, I laid tracks for my Washoe Valley line in Railworks from Fallon to Salt Wells and Parran, along with the mainline to Hazen and the N&C branch back to Fallon. Unfortunately I realized I'd set up my DEM wrong, and am in the process ...

Re: 1920s stuff

Curtis, The Mack looks good, but I think the cab and hood might need higher resolution. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/835826562077746745/8BE7A87BD5DE4AD16A496177517EB4EFD17F398A/ (that's with max settings. It doesn't look as crisp as your shot, so I'm not sure how you managed it, but th...

Re: The Mojave & Panamint Railroad

Indeed it is starting to look like a proper desert - keep at it!
I don't know if the greens are too dark, I'd actually tend to say the more "grey" bushes are the real issue. Either way, suitable replacements for either or both would be good to have.

Wonderful! Bookmarked. I've used Cycles a fair bit but never messed with procedural texturing yet.

Actually what's the system you're using for that? It looks really great...will have to try it myself.

Re: Canadian Pacific's Mountain Sub circa 1887

So something like a rough roadbed with ties sitting on top? My guess is that when the V&T shipped the locos to Onderdonk, they were all painted like the Yale above. Which is interesting, as I don't think the Storey originally came with paint like that. Yes, that's it exactly. And no, Storey wou...

Re: Canadian Pacific's Mountain Sub circa 1887

Looking at this, there's a certain setup that would really make an impact for this route. We shouldn't necessarily use a "ballast" or "no ballast" setup. Ballasted is inaccurate for obvious reasons and "no ballast" looks too smooth. 99.9% of our no ballast tracks are de...

Re: The Mojave & Panamint Railroad

No. 8 needs a bit of work, but that's a great little roster. No. 6 will fit right in when she's done...I have started updating my B3Cs so it won't be too long (hopefully).

Re: Canadian Pacific's Mountain Sub circa 1887

There is certainly much variation in the fuel consumption within the range of wood burning locomotives available in trainz I'm not sure how accurate any one of them would be as a measuring device. I suspect there were guidelines for such things and I'm hoping someone will turn something up. Guideli...
