18MPH?!?! And on the curves?!?! How fast on the strait sections? 25? Have we got ourselves a hot rod engineer here? Just kidding. Glad you like it. I'll have to continue this series. I say keep the current levels of rust. I'd use em'! Lets see... My uses of the rails with different levels of rust: level one (clean rail) uhhhhh.. I don't think I would use it, LOL. Level two(light rust): mainline. Level Three (medium rust): spurs/disused sections. Level four: long abandoned rail l...

I was thinking of using the one on the far right for disconnected spurs that weere abandoned years earlier, where the rail was so old it wasn't even worth pulling up for scrap. I have another idea, how about some ballast and ties but no rail? Set up as a trackspline of course. Just for those old aba...

What? needless complexity?!?! They look beautiful! Especially the one on the far right, heheheh. I need some good rusted out rails for my disused logging spurs. I would use all three shades of rust.

Ok, I'll do that. This one is the latest: http://img386.imageshack.us/img386/849/junk7wreckedheislerss6.th.jpg Its a wreck scene, evidently heisler No. 3 ran away on the grade, jumped the track and was stopped by that big boulder. Some parts were salvaged, but the boiler, frame and water tank got le...

The logging junk, a series of low poly items

I've started building some junk and already I have sixo or seven different things. I though I might as well give it a shot. I think I'll start a new thread for it.

Well, I really don't know. My guess is they would have just left it black, as the green boiler would be awfull hard to keep nice and clean. But, I sent you an e-mail a few days ago, did you get it? It was about clearlake 12, and I would appreciate the bogey gmax too.

Thanks,
Sam

WOW! That textue on the somebox and especially the cab look beautiful! By the way, try using a color other pure black, mix in a few others (like white and brown) and make it a little un-even. Or, just use the textures from the trucks, maybe darken up a nit and there you go! Its a lot easier. Sam By-...

I downloaded it and it looks just great, thanks again Rick! Ya know, you should come up with your own set of "enginehouse and logging Junk," just the stuff you would find lying around the back of an enginehouse or a logging area. For example, old rusty cable (made as a spline) old donkey e...
