Re: Yosemite Valley Railroad water tower

Curtis, Looks great. I did have a little problem when I ran it in a layout. I directed one of Ben's locos (the 2-6-2 30"er) to drive to it and got a script error "Industry track not found" which was strange as I ignored the error and drove manually to the tank and filled up! Cheers, D...

Re: Something I would Really Like to See

Folks,
For those thinking Civil War period railroads, the Kalmbach book 'Mid-Sized Track Plans for Realistic Railroads' has a 14-page chapter on the US Military Railroad City Point and Army Line. Lots of ideas and photos for those modelling that period.

30inch Steam Loco: test results

Folks, I'm planning for a 30in layout (bush-tramway-style) so I thought I'd test out five of the smaller available locos to see how far they'd run with a full load of fuel and water. That'd help me plan out where the water tanks/coal stages/wood sheds should be - and give me an idea of what locos sh...

Re: More NG30 stuff in progress....

Hey Curtis,
Do you mind if I do some modified versions of your 4-tonners (box, flat and ore) for different products?
No other changes, just different product queues and additions to the name/config file to differenciate from the originals.

Curves & Grades on the V&T

I was looking at the area around Gold Hill in Google Earth and using the ruler available in that application, the horseshoe curve at the north end of the station looks to have a radius of about 350ft. If my calculations are correct, that's about a 16 and a half degree curve which is one helluva tigh...

Re: TC3

I've noticed (and reported to the devs) a number of scripting problems in TC3.
The scripts for a lot of the industry assets (goods sheds, loaders and even the pulp mill) are also causing problems.

Re: Track Layout for Ol' Time Shortline Terminus...

I've let this one lapse a bit but I do have to thank Curtis for passing on that URL.
It did get a bit busy in the family about that time as we had a brand new baby daughter, Caitlyn!
(who is doing very well indeed...)
