Couplers missing

Post by jayo »

Hey pencie, when I downloaded your cars, they show up on the railyard, but they don't have the couplers. I can't find the couplers on the DLS either. Where do I get the link and pin couplers?

I downloaded them, and the assets say nothing's wrong, but the couplers still don't show up.

Which cars are you having the problems with? Also, which version of Trainz are you using?

The V&T cars and the W&A passenger cars. I'm using Trainz Classics.

Ah, that explains it - Trainz Classics changed / broke the way some things are handled. I'm kinda waiting to see if they fix it in a patch or in TC3, or if I need to redo everything for TC.....

For a workaround, find these lines in the config file:

att "a.couplerA"

and

att "a.couplerB"

change those by adding a :cull at the end, so they would look like:

att "a.couplerA:cull"

and

att "a.couplerB:cull"

now, these changes will break the config in earlier versions of TRS, so only do it for Classics.
Also, I don't have Classics yet myself, so this is based on experiments others have tried, and *should* work.

Good luck, and let me know if you still have problems.

OK - I'm not sure what to tell you to try, then. I'll have a copy of Classics in a couple months, and should be able to troubleshoot the problems then.

I should note, the Old time flatcars' couplers do show up, but the other cars' ones don't.

Try :Cull instead of :cull - it looks like it's case-sensitive.
The flatcars are an older model with built-in couplers, so they don't have this issue.

Actually, there is another. When I installed Ben's docksider and NG mogul, I have a similar issue, except it's where the wheels aren't showing up, and the engine frame and boiler appear to be hovering in mid-air. And again, nothing's missing and cmp says nothings wrong...
