Your car looks great!

For my first car I made a locomotive. It was a 3ft 0-6-0T.I thought that it would be pretty easy. Wrong! It took me two years to finally release it.
Here's some pics of it:

There is source files for a shay at http://www.mybizsoftware.net/trainz/downloads.htm
But since you use 3d Canvas that probaly won't help.
I might be able to animate one.

lilb,
I might take you up on that as time goes on because I can't use those source files but, you can. Maybe we can work on one together... :D

(I hope it don't take two years, though.)

Not sure I've accomplished what I set out to do, here...

Here's the 'new' caboose. A 12' 'bobber' in 3' ng. Still a bit more to do, yet;

Rick
Are you gonna leave the boards as horizontal ?
Looks a bit odd, just thought I'd Ask.

Hey Rick, if you need a "personalised" shay to pull those cars, I have made several versions based of the one from shagster, I might be able to do something for you. Just send me some photos, drawings, or descriptions and I'll get to work!

Sam
Just a passing thought - would it be possible to adjust the bogeys to a 30" gauge and another as a 36" gauge?
Do you have the Gmax files from Shagster?

Ken,
Is this a little better? I wasn't sure as to how I wanted the boards to run because I've seen them run both ways but I don't think my model looks that good with horizontal boards on it.

Poly count is at 1558, so far. Still got a few more things I wanna do to it, yet.

I'm not to sure I like these trucks, either. I think Curtis' 30" freelance boxcar trucks would look much better under it. I would need someone to kit bash them to 3 foot for me, though. I've already skinned them and have them posted on the DLS and here, at the bottom of my page.
http://www.geocities.com/thegrindre/page3ng.html I think this type of truck would fit this model a bit better, Don't you?

Sam,
I haven't done any of my home work as of yet. The only pic I can find of it, so far, is this one.

Hmmm... that one might be kinda tough.... but I'll give it a shot! This could be fun... lets see, its a woodburner right? 3ft gauge? Yes, I'll get to work as soon as I can.

I think I could adjust the bogeys to 30in, and if you want to take a whack at it the gamx files are on his website: http://www.mybizsoftware.net/trainz/index.htm theres also a pair of Australian sugar cane locos there and some cars. I'll give it a try too, and if I can convert it to 30in maybe I'll try a standard gauge one too...

Sam

EDIT: If you download the shay you should replace the engine spec file with the one from prowler's shay, or it will go 50mph+

Sam, our problem is, is that we don't do Gmax. LOL I'm creating in 3D Canvas Pro. Ken isn't creating at this time.

Wood burner, YES.
3 foot NG, Yes.

Hi Guys
Rick, they look a whole lot better now. Good of you to take hints and thanks for listening. The goldmine of 30ng Shays was tempting since I think most steamer-guys and NG flavored, too will opt for a darn nice, RARE Shay, even if someone else builds it. (Right, Sam ??)

Take on the challenge, bud. Those of us who care to renovate and kit-bash are anxious for another NG challenge. I'm looking forward to a great piece of artwork. Granted, I don't create, but I will give the kudos where they belong. Sam, once you're done, would you consider sharing the Gmax or 3DS files ?

Fine work, all of you, who share your wonderful work.

Ken,
Ok, I've started work on the standard gauge version, 30in next.

Rick,
I might have to make it a 3-cylinder version, thats what Shagster's shay was. And I have an idea... could you make me a couple of buildings for me? If you want to do that I'l send you some drawings of what I want.

I can't promise a finish date for either of the shays, but I will say that the 30in one will be done much sooner than CN-60. If I do give a time, add a week to it, then it will probably be more acurate.
