3DC rolling stock in 3' NG

Post by thegrindre »

This is gonna be fun.

Got the height and width down using Curtis' and Whecsailor's ng stuff for alignment.

Here's a very rough first attempt at my first car. (I have a dream!) LOL

Invisible, floating bogies is definitely not what they used.

Hi all,
OK, smart a**... LOL

I believe I need a little help with the config file.
I need to know what the enginespec is all about?
What does it do?
How does it work?
What is it used for?
Which one should I use?

I've pulled up a number of cars and some have the same kuid but some don't.
I'm looking for the basic standard piece of rolling stock with no added 'attractions'. No bells no whistles...

I believe I have the rest of the config all figured out.

Thanks,

P.S. I have a dream!

Okay. Here's what I know (I think...) since I'm not at home. :?
The engine spec is mostly the same throughout most un-powered stock.
Use the Auran kuid <-1:42004201>
I'll be home about 430pm so I can check again at that point and answer your other query's.

Good Luck. 8)

You got mail.

OK, that's the one that seems to be the most standard.

Thanks,

Well, I thought it was coming along pretty good...

Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted the whole thing. It no longer exists. Don't know how to recover it. I never use the trash bin, I deactivated it years ago.
I hit the DELETE key instead of the enter key while I was renaming a file. I never got around to backing up a second copy.
I'm afraid this is all I have of it, the exported .im file for the game itself.

Oh, well. Gotta start all over again, I guess.

Who remembers their DOS commands. I can't remember most and I need to figure out how to search my hard drive.
I think the DOS word I'm looking for is find. Yup, that's it.

Never mind. I'm startin' a new one. Spent a couple hours of searchin' the net and DLing a half a dozen recovery apps but all to no avail.

You guys all sleep late on Saturdays, don't ya. He he...

Well, vacation's over for me. I had fun. Hope you all did.

For searching the hard drive, I use windows search in XP. Vista's doesn't seem to work as well for non-standard files (although I'm probably missing something)
I'm sorry about your loss; but the next one will be even better, right?

Well, I guess you could say that. :D It's turning out to be, so far.

OK, I'm back on track, pun intended.

I'm having 'window' issues. The 'window maker/hole maker' is bugged in 3DC. I've reported it but don't know when or if it'll be fixed. It's something that should be addressed, though. It doesn't work per their instructions.

Unfortunately, they don't show in the game... :(

I guess I'll have to figure out how to do alpha channeling.

Polys are only 334. My buildings have more than this.
