My little caboose is almost ready for release.
I wanted a FRED so I made one and got it working, thanks to Norm. (I'll release this as a separate asset, btw, shortly. Working and everything, thanks to Norm. LOL)
I wanted smoke and got that working, thanks to Norm.
I wanted Elvenor's couplers and finely got them working, thanks to Norm. (It was nothing but a syntax error all this time, btw.)
I now want to add a cab view sitting on the roof walk and am working on that without Norm, at present but, will probably need him by the time I screw things up again. LOL
I also want the FRED to work only when an engine is coupled to it. (Hi Norm).

......................................................................Here's the FRED. I need to add a handle and it does have a red corona, too. You may change this if you want to.

Once I get all this figured out, I'll add everything to the Blacksmith and Sand car and release them, too.

Did I ever thank you Norm?

Of course, we still haven't figured out what or how it was exactly used. :D :D :D

No we haven't but the addition of the two sander valves and pipes I added makes it a bit more logical for emergency sanding, IMHO...

Thought I'd share the next coming attraction. LOL
It's loosely based on the Mich-Cal Water Car of the same type and this one is also used for track side and trestle fires.
I plan to add hoses and valves and washers and nuts and bolts all over it. LOL
Still have a ways to go but, all in all, it's coming along fine, IMO.

I am really liking those wood textures. Are they from our favorite source or are you getting
real good at making them from scratch ?

Believe it or not, I've pretty much used up all CG's textures. If you look closely, this is the latest barrel lid texture with my 'magic' added to it. Still have a bit to do to it yet to get it just right, though.
I wish there was a tutorial on making wood textures. I'm not as good as Ben to be able to make my own from scratch, as of yet. I don't really know that secret.
I basically just Google around searching for one thing or another and when I happen upon a wood texture I like I'll grab it then play with it till it comes out the way I want it. It's rather time consuming but the results are worth it, IMO.

Thanks,
:D

Thought I'd try this effect. Never done it before and Paint.NET was an interesting prospect to try it out in so, a little water seepage.

I like it real fine. What if.............
you have a bunch of water on the car's decking . . . . from the leak?

Well, I've thought about that, too, Ken. This is supposed to be a 'newer' car or at least the tank is and a little seepage rather than a leak was all I was looking for. I'll keep it in mind as I progress along, though.
You know me... This may turn into an 'old' car by the time I'm done... LOL

Thanks,

That looks really really nice! I love the leakage, very realistic. 8)
