Photo Gallery?

Post by meconicuk »

Hello All.
Pottering about with the Photo Gallery.
Added 2 practise images into album to see how they look.

Will delete them shortly.

Could you let me know if the size/resolution is way too big? as I
think I saw something about 5,000 KB per image.

Nope, post whatever resolution you'd like. The two thumbnails are pre-defined, but the original can be any size.
I can set you up with your own gallery if you'd like - just let me know what you would like the title and description to be :)

Thanks Curtis.

Could you provide a 'gallery' for me with the following title...

Early Railways - Pre 1865

I was surprsed at the size of image the gallery allows to be enlarged from the thumbnail. I thought there would be a set limit (800 x 600).

I like the slideshow effect with the galleries: all of which seem to have very interesting images.

I'll try to rotate images which may be of interest to the Group and give some kind of basic description.

Thanks again for the help.
Mac.

The gallery has been created, and I moved your previous pictures into it - if there's anything else I can do to help, please don't hesitate to let me know!

Thanks Curtis.

I put some more images up but the destination Folder ended up out of kilter.
I thought I was uploading the images to my'Early Railways..'Folder but they ended up somewhere else(though still viewable).

I looked for some method of moving the photo's from one folder to another but couldn't see anything.

Will have another try at uploading today.

Hello there.

I think I've exceeded the Limit for the photo album by about 100% !

I'll start to delete the early images and replace them with stuff that doesn't take up so many pixels.

Have put comments/explanations on most of the images.
Mac.

It looks like you are still putting your pictures in the old album - if you'd like to put them in the new album, when you are uploading your pictures, you'll want to assign them to the Early Railways album in the Public Galleries category.
As for the quota - I've increased it to 20MB - I'll work on removing that limit completely in the next week or so.

Hello Curtis.

I thought I had the one album to put pictures in.

When I upload an image; the album choice I'm given is 'Early Railways
Pre 1865'...I don't see anything else apart from the dedicated V&T Folders.

Thanks for upping the quota to 20Mb but I don't think I'm likely to exceed that; as I'm trying to delete files before i add new ones.

Thanks again.
Mac.
