Awwww, Norm, don't clam up now. Sounds like a juicy story.
On a hay bale ??
Okay, 'nuff o'that. Rick, I was wondering now since we have a blacksmith's car, that guy is going to need some supplies. Once the car stops somewhere on the circuit, he'll need to have a drop-off point for those special items.
Certain wood for the furnace, bits of iron or steel, ropes, cables, hammers and, who knows what else.
Let's think about what he would need that would come from a flatcar full of supplies. A drop-off platform with those supplies similar to the Old West Goods platform or the Mixed Barrels platform. I'll do some research on-line and come back later.
Any more ideas ?

There is a 'camp goods' or supplies product out there. It could be enhanced or used as is possibly. Not sure about it.

Sheesh! Texturing rounded/circular objects is a real stinker...
Here's the hoist, unfinished as of yet but, I think I got the idea down as I want it.
Simple block and tackle should be sufficient for lifting, don't you think?
The stand has 4 large bolts bolted to the car's floor. Not sure if I should make those in 3D. Polys are 1594 so far.

Thanks, I'm still toying with the idea, myself. It's gonna mess with my back wall textures so I haven't made up my mind, yet.
I may just rebuild that back wall for it before I'm through, though....

OK, roof has been rebuilt as a boxcar's would be. Block and tackle installed and I thought I'd make some pretty cool rope for it. Unfortunately, by the time I had gotten about half way through, the poly count on the rope alone came in at close to 8,000... (So much for detailed rope no matter how good it looked...)

OK, folks, this is about it. I can't get the car on the tracks, it seems to be permanently derailed, and I can't seem to put the trucks on it so, until I get some kind of help, I'm going back to scenery.
I can't seem to find anybody building rolling stock for Trainz in 3DC.
The CCG is about as clear as mud and everybody assumes too much.
I'm done with rolling stock for now.

Thanks, Ben. Umm, no, I didn't set it up that way. I'll try that.

Rick!
All you have to do is ask. If you're going to use elvenor's link and pin couplers, you'll want a.couplerA and a.couplerB. Following Curtis and Ben's convention, a.couplerA will be the back coupler and needs to be rotated 180° (at least when using gmax). Ya gonna put truss rods on that thing?
