Importing TRS2006 CDP's into TS2010

Post by KenGreen »

I'm relatively new to Trainz and am very interested in American railway history.
I have downloaded many Locos and rolling stock into TRS2006 and am now trying to load these into TS2010 but find that some go in without much trouble ie. Civil War pair, Yonah and Texas but others notably the Goldspike Locos and Reno, inyo & Genoa do not, these have missing shadow meshes.
Is there a simple guide for novices and non creators on how to remedy problems encountered when trying to load TRS2006 items into TS2010 and can you tell which items are suitable for TS2010 on the DLS.

Hi Ken,

Getting a steam locomotive that was built for an earlier (before TS2009) version of Trainz can be a complex process. I know Terry is working to get his locomotives (Yonah, Texas, General, IE James, and JW Bowker) upgraded to work in TS2009 / 2010, but the Inyo, Reno, and Genoa will need to be manually updated. PEV has some nice utilities that can remove most of the mesh and texture errors - they are located on his site at http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/~vil ... evsoft.htm

Hope that helps a little?

Thanks Curtis, thats just what I had in mind. I will try to get to grips with these routines, they seem promising.

Switching from one version of Trainz to another may not be so easy.
