I figured I start a thread here for the 2009 track I'm working on. Here's a shot of some 60lb bridgetrack: This has rail joints built in, so they will appear automagically every 32 feet or so (should be every 30', but 32' makes the numbers work out much better in Trainz).

Knock on wood, I'll have the standard track finished up shortly, as well as a little bridge for this track...

Could you make a 30in gauge version of this track?

Someday I'll upgrade my 30" stuff to '09 standards, but it may take a while. I'm going back and forth between new stuff and updating old stuff. The 0-4-0 Porters will likely be the next 30" stuff upgraded to '09 standards.

I hope bdaneal will also upgrade his engines! I know he's not really into adjusting what he's made, but still...

I'm glad to see the useful track building stuff new for TS2009 being explored, I think you done great job her Curtis just by looking at the pictures and using earlier experiences with your stuff - but I've downloaded the track too so will have a walk around and over it in Trainz too one of these days.

Your use of a second fill spline has made me rethink some of my old stuff and techniques, and if I ever get back in creating track again I'm going for the same thing as it will simulate some of the track work along the Short Line (Gold Camp Road in Colorado) much better then build it all into one spline.

I was originally going to combine the fill with the track like we did earlier, but decided to use separate splines for two reasons. First is that Auran is emphasizing the spline ends to 'close' the end of a spline. I noticed those would extend through the abutments of the bridges / turntables / etc that I was playing with. Second was that with multiple types of track with multiple ballast colors and multiple fill textures, it seems like the combinations would expand rapidly past a manageable number.
And besides, when you add the fill spline separately, it's not as perfect

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
