Old 4-6-0s467 viewsA pair of Baldwin 4-6-0s, circa 1876. Both were built for WCVM&GS, and both were later absorbed into the Southern Railway roster. bn-4008 was still on the roster until being sold to Georgia Car & Locomotive sometime in 1911. It was resold to a logging outfit in Florida after being converted to a woodburner by GC&L. bn-4009 was scrapped before the 1903 renumbering. It was not rebuilt into an 0-4-4T.
I have two versions, 4008 circa 1905 or so, and 4009 circa the late 1870s.

Army of Baldwins457 views4-6-0s, 2-8-0s, 2-6-2s, 2-8-2s. Only one representative of each wheel arangment is shown. The 4-6-0 is based on M&NA 18, 19 and 20, the 2-8-0 on CHV 21 (one of the engines at my museum), the 2-6-2 on Bonhomie & Hattiesburg Southern 250, and the 2-8-2 on GAS&C 100.4 commentsbdaneal

Baldwin Decapod431 viewsThe army grows by one more wheel arrangement. This is a standard Baldwin 2-10-0, used by several shortlines (and a couple of Class ones), mostly in the southeast. This is the modern version, based on Gainesville Midland 203, one of the engines at my museum. There is also an older version based on Great Western 90.1 commentsbdaneal

Savannah & Atlanta 750423 viewsThe most famous engine at the Southeastern Railway Museum. It ran in the Southern steam program for a while (unlike others at the museum, I don't know exact dates) and also the New Georgia excursions. It last ran in 1989. Currently on display in Building 1.
Oh yeah, historical stuff. Built by ALCo in 1910 for the Florida East Coast (#80). Sold to the S&A in 1935.

Army Baldwin408 viewsBaldwin S118 class narrow gauge 2-8-2. I know these were used on 3', 1 meter, and 3.5' gauge railroads, but there might be other gauges that they worked on. For the time being, I only have the three gauges mentioned above.1 commentsbdaneal

C&C Bodie392 viewsCarson & Colorado #2, the only engine of theirs that I know about. I still need to make some tender trucks for it. Also the twinkles need tweaking, as does the enginespec. Naturally, the cab is also non existant.1 commentsbdaneal

Red River & Gulf 104362 viewsBaldwin 52207, long time resident of Stone Mountain park, now residing at the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth, GA. A very modern 4-4-0, built in 1919. This will be another member of the reskinable Baldwins, though it will be equipped with lots of standard striping.5 commentsbdaneal

28-2 shay354 viewsA 28 ton 2 truck shay, 3' gauge. This was based on a model and ended up with a rather large inaccuracy. Let's see if anyone spots it. The prototype was SN-653. Most details are my own spin on things, including the roadname. The standard gauge version actually follows the prototype.1 commentsbdaneal

Colorado & Southern 9 (pic 1)351 viewsCurrent project: Colorado & Southern #9. A class B3C 2-6-0, built by Cooke in 1884 for the DSP&P. Today #9 is the only survivor of the DSP&P Cooke 2-6-0s. It operates at the Georgetown Loop Railroad in Colorado.1 commentsbdaneal
