Re: Unknkown Film ?
Re' the info' on the Ambrose Bierce DVD...... I just got feedback(from Canada of all places!) which seems to point towards the YouTube clip of the 1890's Civil War Re-Union coming from a film called "War So Terrible". Have a look at the plot structure in this Link...http://www.pamplinstor...

Re: Gallery updated
Curtis.
Sent you a PMessage yesterday re' the new image gallery(3).
Like I said, once you grasp the initial set up; it should prove a
better system than the previous one.
I might even download Gallery 3 for my own images.

Re: Daguerreotype Image Question
Found the info' I wanted on another Forum.
The 'headboard' represents some kind of Special Working much the same as UK practise.
The YATES ran on 6' gauge track so should make an unusual modelling subject.

Daguerreotype Image Question
Hello Curtis. I'm hoping you or a member of this forum can help me with the following... The first image shows a 4-6-0 of the NY & Erie RR circa late 1850's. What caught my eye is the board mounted on the front of the Engine. I've never seen this feature before and was wondering what it was use...

Re: Old RR Crossing signs
Thanks.
That's a pretty neat feature to have on a layout.
I've sent off for a couple of pictorial books on Old New York and Washington to get some ideas on pre 1870 structures/street scenes.

Re: Something I would Really Like to See
That Kalmbach book showing the Civil War USMR layout for City Point sounds interesting.
I wouldn't mind seeing the plan to see how they tackled it; but I can't find this book at a UK stockist.
Osprey are bringing out a 'CIvil War Railroads Tactics' in August and I've reserved a copy.

Nice looking Engines.
I like 'Carson' because the darker wheel spokes look better.
