I agree; they are looking fantastic! and I am also eagerly awaiting release.
As for the speed 9MPH might be close to prototypical. I recently read that freight trains on the V&T (C&C parent company) were limited to 12MPH!

Where did you find the plans for the flatcar and trucks? I am putting together a f scale model of a train that included one of these cars with an auxillary water tank on it.
