Yeah, that seems to be the consensus. I guess I went way over the top. It was fun though.

mcguirel's Ponderosa Pines don't match the actual tree too well either.

Oh well I'll take another swing at it when a better Ponderosa comes along.

Heh. It was an interesting idea.
I concur about the trees...they're far too robust to mimic Ponderosas - the shape is rather more reminiscent of a young Cedar if you ask me. Speaking of which, I need to ask around about getting some incense cedars made. :D

Heh.

A question for you, why didn't you make the YVRR #22? According to my source the 22 was Identical to the 23. Made by BLW 3 months earlier but with identical specs.

The reason is in your answer: BLW.
I do intend to build #22 at some point, but there are numerous differences. Additionally, the drawings I have are for years after construction - probably even after #21 was retired. The air system had been rearranged, new parts had been fitted, et cetera. It's possible to build it as a refit to #23 but it's a major overhaul. Honestly, we'd get more operational value out of #25, which I am also going to build in time.

Oh I am sorry my source The Encyclopedia of Western Railroad History lists the #22 and the #23 as built by Rodgers. That is what I get for trying to talk from memory. Both were by Rodgers, both had 63" drivers, 18x26 cylinders, a weight of 114,600lbs and produced 18,720lb tractive force. #22 was built in 5/07 bld#43167 and #23 was built in 8/07 bld#44689. Sorry for my confusion.

The 2-6-0's were all over the place according to EWRH. with the earliest built in April of 1913 (#27) and the last built in Sept 1925 (#25). #26 was the only one not built by BLW, it was from Richmond built in April 1924. But, according to EWRH, all had the same specs. 57" drivers, 19x28 cyl, 143,00lb and 28,600TE. I have the build #s if you want them. All were acquired new BTW.

As far as roster information goes, that's not really an issue. I've got a couple of YVRR books (constantly looking for more) and so once I have a base model I can build just about anything. The only thing that would give me trouble is #11, mostly because very little information exists on it.
