Here's another re-skin I'm working on

Post by thegrindre »

Thought I'd share my latest project. It's still unfinished, though. It used to be Pencil's 30' Union Pacific Flatcar. Now, it's just unknown... :)
Any comments on this one?

Here's an update to this wonderful flatcar by Pencil with my re-skin...

I need access to those trucks, please. I can't find them anywhere. Is it possible to get a .bmp, .jpg, or a .tga format copy of them??? (They're the only formats I can manipulate.)

Thanks a million...

Rick, I like these, too. I will ask a dumb question or two......
Are they narrow gauge and what would be its' name?
The track looks like some of Shortline's mine track which I thought were 36ng. Also, have you considered upload to TPR? That process is much easier and it is available immediately.

No they're not, I'm afraid. That F7 should have given it away.
Im working on two routes, one NG the other standard. These standard gauge cars are Pencil's fine creations. I'm using all his Central Pacific and Union Pacific stock. When I get tired of building, I'll grab a car and re-skin it in both gauges depending on which route I'm playing with.

I think that track is installed with '06.

The red boxcar in my other thread is NG by Merdious. (I'm not finished with it ,though.)

Have you got a favorite car you want re-skinned? Let me know and I'll see what I can do.

This little narrow gauge jewel by Elvenor is a project I want to encounter. I've already removed the road name. I thought I'd leave the number 3 and age it with old runny paint. I think I can age this baby nicely... :)

Looking good, Rick!
Ken, the track looks like it is either 124060:38006:1, 124060:38001:2, or 124060:38003:2. Standard gauge, 55 pound rail.

Actually, I do have a couple I would like you to do. Since I have photos of the Cass Scenic RR and they own a few Cabeese, one of them is a two-axle which I shall send a photo of shortly and another is a standard two-truck version. Both with name of RR on the side. Soon as I run a couple of errands and then get the photos uploaded on-line, I will send the them for all to see.

I will have a lot to look at including some Shay's and old MOW equipment which includes a huge skidder.

I'll be back soon.

BTW - I noticed the F7 after I sent the note. AND the entire Cass railroad is SG and used to connect with the C&O. It will be a rare case when another loco comes to visit.

Cass Caboose

Post by Col Hogan »

Hi Rick

Here is the little jewel I spoke of. Cass owns only one of these and it sits as static display on top of a small mountain pass called Whittaker. It sports a nice logo of a close relative RR company and would be a nice addition if you could re-skin Elvenors version and use the markings of this, instead. Let me know if you need anything additional.

More to come later.

This is the brake wheel end of the caboose. (Duh, obviously.....)

These little items are so cool especially when you get up close and look inside.

Beautiful!!! And, no copula. Great shots for a modeler...
Unfortunately, I can only re-skin, (re-paint), what is already there. I can't alter the original model, I'm afraid. We would have to get one of the talented GMax guys around here to build one for us. Sorry.

What I can do is, make it red and place the road name down where the 3 is.
