My favorite locomotive is the Shay...

Post by thegrindre »

Being the Shay lover that I am, here's a site I found I wanted to share with all other Shay lovers.
My absolute favorite Shay is a SN #60 and my second would be most any "T" boiler Shay.
Both these engines I built in HO scale a lot of years ago. :D

Enjoy,

:D I am a Shay lover as well even though they move pretty slow, they are a small masterpiece. Here is a link to Prowler's site that has a couple more Shay's listed as UTC or Bld 1.3. They will work in 2004 Bld 2.4 (2365). Check the config file if you have problems.

A couple more to add to your library.

I know of the four that I've made. Does that count for anything?
If you haven't seen it, Zapperjet has one on trainzone that he kitbashed from mine.
Cheers,

But, Of Course, Ben. Some of your 2ft Gilpin equipment is superb and I have them all !!!!

And I would assume you are speaking of this site --
http://www.trainzone.co.nz/steam.htm where Zapperjet has one listed if you look close.
In fact, there cannot be enough Shays around and if there was that fleeting chance that someone would construct one of another type either 20T 2Trk version or 3Trk 60T, that would be fine with me.
(I'm not mentioning any names, don't worry).

These babies do move slow and a short route with logs and coal would be a wonderful thing to see right now, I can certainly say that Grindre and myself have feverishly been working on one since about August. I expect it will be finished real darn soon.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Ben, your stuff is great! But, you're supposed to post a link for everybody else.
Let's post links to these wonders of the woods. :D
