Locomotives of the V&T
Hello builders of the V&T in Trainz,
Are you guys going to build the rest of the V&T locomotives, since you guys have built 4-14 and 21-22? And the rest of them are the same types 2-6-0s, 4-4-0s, 2-4-0s and 0-4-0. And one last question, Is there any updates of this wonderful route that you guys are building? I would love to help you guys out if need be. I also found a color photo of locomotive #20 Tahoe it is at http://www.rrmuseumpa.org/about/roster/ ... ocos.shtml look thru the slideshow and it will say 1875 Tahoe.

Unfortunantly, I am having a problem downloading the 2-6-0 Monguls for the V&T. Please tell me why this is going on.

Hi Toren,
What problems are you having? Also, which version of Trainz are you using?
Thanks,
Curtis

Re: Locomotives of the V&T
I am using TRS2006. I get the signal when I use the download helper that the download helper can't find a download URL. It also says that it can't find the item on the DLS.
Also I noted after I tried to download the locos that they are only usable in TS2009.
Would you mind making the locos compatible with TRS2006 so I can download them? I'd be so happy because I want to try them out on my new Old West route that's under construction.
I am in the middle of Hurricane Earl and may be losing power any moment, so I may not get the message for a few days.

Re: Locomotives of the V&T
Hi Toren,
Unfortunately, those locomotives make use of some of the new steam and material features in TS2009, so porting them to an older version would be a fairly major undertaking, and not one I'm planning to undertake. However, if someone else wants to do the work; I've posted the source files on the downloads page.

Also, I would like to download some of the trestles of TS2009 in TRS2006. Are they any easier to convert than locos? Do you even still support TRS2006?
I would also like to know if there are any other old west locos around for TRS2006.

Re: Locomotives of the V&T
I still release '04 / '06 items from time to time, but the majority of my work is in TS2010 now (back-reved to '09). The new bridges and track all use new features in '09 also, to make them more efficient. Converting the bridges back to an earlier version should be possible without changing the GMAX. The normal mapping may cause issues in old versions, though, but I'm not sure.
Ben Neal has several standard and narrow gauged old west locomotives on his site (http://steammachine.com/bdaneal/); all his are for '04 / 06. Terry Bryson has some Civil War locos on the DLS, and Elvenor has a number of narrow gauge old west equipment on the DLS.

I think that Elvenor, sadly, is no more. Prowler said something about that he died in 2006.

Yes, he did. However, his narrow gauge equipment is still on the DLS.
Re: Locomotives of the V&T
Work has started modifying one of Ben's ten wheelers. Still quite a bit of work remaining.....
Re: Locomotives of the V&T
A little more progress.... dropped the boiler & cab, moved the air tanks and compressor, redid some of the piping, did more work on the pilot, made the center drivers blind, tweaked the wheelbase and the grab rail ....
