That gondola needed a mate. How 'bout a flatcar?

I needed some matching rolling stock so thought I'd skin a flatcar. It also has no ARN nor any road name. I made it the same as the gondola with my 'dirty' trucks under it.

Hmmm, looks like that boxcar is next.

Should I keep it red, too or go with another color?

Suggestions anyone?

If you like this one, Curtis, I'll upload it, too.

(it's one of your UP slate flatcars.)

I like those old boards, bud. Now if you could make another one with the boards slightly different you would add another flat to your queue.
Put the rusty trucks on it as well.

On the boxcar, how would it be with a deep green color? No lettering.
Black top and running board.

How big is this new route, here ??

Well, we can do a well used pealing paint version in green, I guess. Or, a 'clean' green for that mater. Any other suggestions?

So far the route is only 3 boards and very sparse in textures. That's my weakness. I usually build an area, sit back, then test it with a couple engines to make sure all industry and track is working OK. I'm very slow at route building and usually wander off to some other project,

like re-skinnin'.

How about worn railroad brown? There were lots of those old-timers. Or how about tuscan red, or how about..... I've got to stop, or you won't get any done. They're looking really nice.

One comment regarding the standard Auran "general goods" loads:
The vertically loaded version always looks like it's going to topple right off and this appears to be a problem with interactive flat/open wagons/cars around the Trainz world from American gondolas to German flatcars.

A few Trainz rollingstock designers have placed them on their side (IIRC some of the 30" flats and gons, some of the UK open wagons and a few of the German 760mm flats carry them that way) and it looks far more secure (and thus, dare I say it, realistic...). Sure, you can't carry as many but I'd rather carry less and arrive with the same number that I set off with than to have to look for half of my goods load back down along the track at all the tight curves.
