Here's a 'clean' green. I need comments on the color. (I am not familiar with the proper railroad colors, though.)
There is a lot of work still yet to be done.

Boxcars were painted all different colors back then, so likely whatever you do will be prototypical. (and it's not like there were color photographs back then to prove you wrong ) I believe Tuscon red wasn't a 'standard' color 'til the 1890's or so. Generally, it seems the roof and underside were also painted the body color. That's an error on my versions - I left the undersides as unpainted wood...
The UP owned the DSP&P at one point. I seem to recall the V&T owned the C&C. Don't know about CP, unless you count SP, which did have narrow gauge.
While I know about locomotive colors for the 1860s-1930s, I don't know much about freight car colors. Boxcar red seems most common, but there was a lot of variation in that color. Yellow and white were common on reefers, but also found use on some ventilated boxcars. Green seemed to be popular for tool cars. Here is one of my museum's tool cars, showing a coat of green. We have an unrestored Western Union tool car, also green. The color you have there looks a bit like the color on the WU car.
Edit: I also remember seeing some black boxcars somewhere. I can't remember what road it was, though.
Freshly painted cars almost never show any wood grain, until you get very close. Our weathered work car doesn't show much grain through the paint, because the paint peeled, exposing the wood.

A lot of D&RGW freight cars do show the wood grain, though. I'm not sure why. Here's a weathered D&RGW car at the C&T.

Just a little curious, though, would there be a chance to make the ladder rungs and the door harware a darker color, let's say black or dark grey ??

Got all the files cleaned up and, boy, that was quit a challenge removing all the ARN in all the files AND keeping the animated doors and sounds working, sheesh.
She'll go on my web site and the TPRDD after I make an attempt at one more little feature I want to try. Might be a few more days still.
