2013 news:

December 31st, 2013

The brown ballast version of the NG30 track has been uploaded to the DLS, but the tan version has hit a glitch with the upload process. I've also uploaded a 'flange squeal' version of my standard-gauge track; as it looks like that's also working now with HF4. Finally, I've converted an old ore bin model I did several years back to blender and have added some detail and shadows. Still need to add the scripting and animation, though.

I noticed that SP4 for TS12 seems to have fixed the end cap issue I was having with my 30 inch gauge track, so I've restarted that project. A test version is on the beta page, with two ballast colors and two rail weights.

The shacks have been uploaded and are now on the DLS.  They are also linked on the Misc Downloads page, along with the source files.

I've been working on finishing the Sellers turntable used in Carson City. I've brought the existing model into Blender from GMAX. Unfortunately, I noticed that the plans I used were fairly inaccurate, so I've had to completely remodel the girders. Interestingly, this model dates from 2007 - here's hoping it's not another 6 years before I finish it!

In other news, N3V is running a kickstarter for the next version of Trainz. They have some pretty interesting plans, so it'll be great to see what comes out of this if they succeed.

Edit: Looks like the campaign was successful, so it should be a fun time next year!

November 3rd, 2013

The Lincoln highway signs are now on the DLS. I've also posted a bunch of scrub textures that were lying around on my hard drive, gathering virtual dust. Finally, the first batch of shacks is posted for beta

October 25th, 2013

I've uploaded brown and grey ballast versions of the 35lb NG36 track, as well as a set of 60lb NG42 track. The NG42 track comes in brown ballast, no ballast, and rail-only versions. Finally, I've also uploaded a single-track version of a 50-foot A-frame turntable with NG36 track. I'm currently working on a small set of content for the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln Highway, as well as a set of small shacks.

September 30th, 2013

I've uploaded a single-track version of my 50-foot A-frame turntable to the DLS, as well as a set of trackside markers. The trackside markers come in metric and imperial versions, and are useful for placing trackside fencelines, parallel sidings, and other items that are a fixed distance from the track centerline. Finally, I've also uploaded new versions of the generic passenger platforms, incorporating changes by Norm to add height and roll adjustments.

August 9th, 2013

I've uploaded a 5-foot gauge iron turntable to the DLS in support of an upcoming route by Rooneth3808. This could also be used for Southern US routes up to and including the Civil War (or any other location that ran or runs on 5-foot gauge).

July 26th, 2013

I've ported another military model from EoD to Trainz - this time the M-35 cargo truck. I also updated one of the 4-wheeled NG30 boxcars - I had overlooked that car when I was updating the ARN code a while back.  I'm also (finally) working on updating the moguls with feedback from last year's V & T history conference.

April 9th, 2013

Quick update - I've uploaded Blender source files for some of the recent track I've done. Find them on the Download Tracks page.

April 3rd, 2013

Lots of updates this time. I've tweaked the 60lb track to improve both performance and some visual artifacts. The red roofed version of the VC wood fuel shed (used from the 1920's through the 1940's) is now on the DLS, as well as some CP truck updates to add shadows and remove warnings in new builds of Trainz.

March 18th, 2013

The updated wood fuel shed is now on the DLS. The turntable and 30 inch track are coming along, albeit slowly.

February 8th, 2013

The 30lb and 35lb 3-foot narrow gauge track are now available on the DLS. I'm now working on 16lb, 30 inch gauge track, based on what was likely used by the Eureka Mill railroad. I'm also making good progress on the updated A-frame turntable, and an update to the wood fuel shed used in Virginia City.

January 21st, 2013

30lb and 35lb versions of 3-foot narrow gauge track are posted on the beta page. Four versions of the West Carson engine house are now on the DLS; spanning the time from 1880 to 1950. The West Carson carpenter shop is complete, and has been loaded to the DLS.

Happy New Year!!
I've updated a number of the old west water tanks to remove errors and warnings in TS12, as well as updating them with normal maps and the improved script (which allows you to move the tender back and forth a little instead of grabbing it instantly.) They are all on the DLS now.
The narrow gauge track is progressing nicely; there should have a 30lb version available for test Soon(tm).
