2009 news:
December 23rd, 2009
Updated the Christmas Porter with the fixes already incorporated in my other Porter - built-in engineer and support for cab control, along with other fixes. It is now on the beta page along with a 1908 caboose.
November 8th, 2009
Just sent the first batch of TS2009 track to the DLS - it should be
available early next week.
Also sent a couple of medium detail '09 ground textures, and (finally!)
fixed versions of the AB&A early 1900's freight cars.
Finally, I've added links on the rolling stock page to locomotives by
Ben and Terry that match some of the rolling stock I've done (CP, UP,
and W&ARR).
September 13th, 2009
Uploaded a couple of 2009 ground textures. The DeHavilland biplane is out of Blender and in-game, but still has some work remaining. Started work on some 2009-spec 60 lb track; also have a couple of early 20th century cabooses nearing completion.
August 18th, 2009
Finally uploaded the remaining V&T moguls. With Ben and Terry's engines, we now have the locomotive roster complete from No 4 through 14! Also uploaded a minor update to the 3' narrow gauge roundhouse and turntable, as well as a small shed that was once a boxcar. Currently, I'm working on a new set of track for TS 2009, as well as a couple of early 20th century cabooses.
July 28th, 2009
Uploaded a set of six 65' turntables; standard, 30", and 36" gauge in
both single track and 8 track versions.
Also uploaded fixes for the W&A RR coach and the TS 2009 water tank.
Finally, I added a link on the downloads page for the V&T locomotive
Terry just completed.
June 30th, 2009
The updated drivable steam schooners and the V-flumes are now on the DLS; as is the update YVRR water tank and the new Mogul interior. 8 'new' V&T Moguls are nearing completion, and will hopefully be completed before too long.
June 9th, 2009
Posted several new betas: updates to the drivable steam schooners,
the V-flumes, and an update to the mogul interior. See the
beta page for
more details.
Also fixed a bug in the YVRR water tank; this will be uploaded to the
DLS once it starts accepting uploads again.
May 21st, 2009
The V&T mogul and the YVRR water tanks are both now on the DLS.
The steam schooner updates are progressing nicely; I'm just finishing up
the interiors, then will post them on the beta page for a little while.
I've also done some minor updates to the downloads page - mainly
splitting out the V&T rolling stock to their own page, and adding links
to bdaneal's V&T locos on his site.
May 16th, 2009
I've (finally) posted the last of Rick's tutorials - these are nice
guides to some advanced texturing techniques using Paint.NET.
Check them out!
The ore cars are now fixed on the DLS. Coming soon will be the
first of the V&T Moguls (no 4, Virginia, as it arrived from Baldwin in
1869). Also coming soon will be a water tank from the Yosemite
Valley Railroad, as well as updates to my steam schooners.
May 5th, 2009
Updated both the 30" ore car and the V&T ore cars to TS2009, and uploaded them to the DLS. Unfortunately, the bogeys were corrupted by the upload process. Auran is aware of the issue, and we are working on a fix. The V&T mogul will also be uploaded to the DLS once the upload process is working again.
April 5, 2009
After a couple of attempts, the new railroad crossing signs are on the DLS. Also uploaded is a renumberable milepost sign (TS2009) and an update to the Reno blacksmith shop (the smoke was coming out the wrong spot on the model!)
March 28, 2009
Uploaded a wooden railroad crossing (TC3 & later) to the DLS.
Uploaded an '09 compatible water tower, complete with a variable water
animation time, depending on how much water it is loading into a tender.
Also updated the stub switches on the DLS with finer pitch control, so
they can be placed on grades more accurately.
Making good progress with the V&T moguls - maybe they'll actually get
released this year :)
February 9th, 2009
Updated the 30ng Porter locomotive cab on the DLS to fix the errors in
TS2009. The enginespec still isn't '09 compatible, but one thing
at a time :)
Added V&T cabooses numbers 5 and 6 in two paint schemes to the DLS.
In process of making a drivable DeHavilland biplane (ca 1920's.)
Also sent a couple of minor updates to the DLS - a fix to the cordwood
product that allows it to work with cars supporting bulk loads (such as
gondolas) and an update to one of the roundhouses containing a couple of
minor optimizations.
Finally, I added the GMAX source files for one of the stub switches to
the downloads page.
